This is where my family and I hosted my mother’s birthday last night.
Located in Soho, Spring Street Natural has food for meat-eaters, vegetarians, and vegans. Meat is free-range and hormone free (the way it should be), produce is organic, and everything is pretty much perfect.
Although the place is not cheap (prices range from $8-25), the price is well worth it when it allows you to dine on Pumpkin Ravioli, Medallions of Seitan Marsala, or Tamarind-ginger glazed salmon.
I ordered the organic rice vegetable dinner, which was basically a massive plate of brown rice with tahini sauce, organic seasonal veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, kale), black beans, tofu, and arame seaweed. Everything was super flavorful, and left me feeling satisfied, but not weighted down.
Dessert was chocolate ganache coconut marble cake with raspberry sorbet. Oh, FYI- it was all vegan!!! I forgot to take pictures until I had pretty much eaten everything. Sorry, guys!!!
Anyway, if you find yourself going to Manhattan and really want to show your family and friends that healthy food can actually taste amazing, check the place out. I recommend making reservations. The place is crazy popular.
