My dad took up cycling after a knee injury stopped him from running, while they're still hard on the legs it's a lot lower impact on your knees to ride a bike, stationary or otherwise.

That’s interesting. I have knee issues periodically and stair climbers and bikes can sometimes be an issue. I think it’s the angle my knee is at. But then I can squat (which puts pressure on knee joints) and run. That’s why I tell people to try different type of things for fitness. What works for one person may not work for you and visa versa, but you don’t know until you give it a shot. Thanks for stopping by. xo

This photo and the commentators are both right. The body needs nutrients. We need essential nutrients- carbs, protein and fats. We get these from…wait for it…food! Essential nutrients provide energy, aka calories. However, the body also needs micro-nutrients,  such as vitamins and minerals and water. We need these for metabolism and a myriad of other things. You could eat thousands of calories, but unless they are providing the micro-nutrients the body needs, you risk being malnourished. Essential and micro-nutrients are sometimes somewhat reliant on one another, meaning you just can’t thrive on empty calories and you can’t just take vitamins and not eat. So in short, try to get your Essential nutrients (calories) from whole foods, which are vitamin and mineral rich. Drink your water.

Thus endeth the lesson.

this is stupid, just because something is high in calories does not mean its not nutritious

It is indeed stupid. I have some friends of mine called: salmon, avocado, nuts, peanut butter, and I think you know the rest…

++++ CALORIES ARE NOT BAD, omg, it is energy. you need energy to function, grow (muscles), and lo and behold: loose weight!!

to the girl with the knee problems: spinning and swimming is great ways to exercise if you have knee problems! :)

Spinning doesn’t hurt your knees?

i really would like to run, but i have serious knees' problems and i have asthma attacks every time i go too fast. what kind of exercises should i do instead of running? (sorry for mistakes, i'm not really good in english)
fitisthenewblack fitisthenewblack Said:

If you have serious knee problems I would suggest going to a specialist first. You don’t want to do anything to injure yourself, so go to see someone who can determine why you’re having knee issues. They will be able to help you figure out how to either overcome the issue or lessen the problem.

According to WebMD, swimming, volleyball and exercises where you have short periods of exertion can be done. But likeWebMD, I would recommend that you see your doctor first or an asthma specialist. They will be able to tell you exactly what you can do, how to do it and ways you can exercise safely.

Yah!!! Look what my boyfriend brought me. My favorite vegan protein powder! So good.
