A few years back I decided to go mostly vegan. For your edification, mostly vegan means the only animal product I was consuming was honey. I didn’t do it for the animals or to prevent adding to pollution. I did it because I’ve known for years about the link between animal products and chronic disease and it seemed like a no-brainer that the best way to eat was by consuming nutrient rich items. When done properly veganism is said to boost the immune system, help your skin clear up and brighten, help you find your healthy weight, and provide more energy and stabilize mood. In short, it’s suppose to be the holy grail of eating plans.
At the time I went mostly veg I had already spent years plagued with chronic stomach problems. I’d break out into rashes after eating too much sugar or bread. Food I consumed seemed to have a problem leaving my system-follow what I’m saying? I had found things that made it more bearable, like increasing my fiber and drinking an obscene amount of water. But I still became bloated when I consumed dairy and unless I followed my chicken or cheese with something full of fiber the likelihood it see the light of day anytime soon was slim.
